Day 2: Paris

This was a big day, our first full day away. And guess what we did to start it? Get up early? Carpe the diem? Nah, we started in true fashion, a nice lie in till about 10, and a nice slow relaxed start. Although, lets be fair, we had slept a miniscule amount on the way, we earnt it. So we got up, I made a coffee (far too strong!), and ate some brioche, and Mollie did the same, sans the coffee, before we got ready, heading to Hotel De Ville and Le Marais, as per the recommendation of our wonderfully eccentric host, Fabrice (he's set the AirBnb host bar high). We ended up starting in the big department store, browsing some extortionate clothes, where even the ones in the sale were big bucks (or should I say, big Euro's (yes, it's poor, forgive me). Our one and only purchase ended up being an exciting one - at least I think so - which was a microSD for my brothers GoPro, so we could film our holiday, prepare for the post-trip, heavily edited masterpiece!

After this, we headed to our lunch spot, as Mollie was feeling the hunger grumps coming on,  which was a place called Mobster Burger, tucked away on a little back street between two Metro stations. However, it would be wrong of me to mention this walk, without acknowledging the major landmark we passed on the way. Basically, we managed to unintentionally stumble upon the Notre Dame, home of the Hunchback, and the home of French religion (I hope thats right, if not, sorry French people, my bad...). After a few quick snapshots (the grumps were really on their way), we hurried to food.

Once we were returned to our natural habitat, we got comfy, I ordered a beer, and Mollie a Fanta Limon, and two mighty fine burgers (see mouth watering picture below). Once eaten, and suitably engorged, we headed to our pseudo-home, for a nap/netflix session. This was relatively self explanatory, so I'll move on to the post-nap proceedings.

Once again, we left for Le Marais, and this time did it a little more properly, visiting some cute shops, most notably Fleux, where there is, and I quote, 'Beautiful Homeware... I want it all... the aesthetic, ahhhhhh'. Mollie says google them and you'll understand. From here we headed to Concorde, well known for being the largest square in Paris, where Marie Antoinette was guillotined, and for being a massive roundabout/mess of roads. One of those isn't quite like the others. Suitably disappointed, we headed to the Tullieres gardens of the Louvre, with an express interest in increading our 'chien count', as well as relaxing a little. Both goals were successfully achieved, which along with meeting a duck squad was great fun.

Now, we get to the crowning glory of the day. The conclusion. After the gardens, we headed back to the Champs-Élysées, first for dinner, and then for Mollie's favourite place. S. E. P. H. O. R. A.

We had pancakes for dinner at La Creperie Framboise. I chose Bacon, Egg and Emmental, while Mollie erred for Ham, Raclette cheese and potato (a staple in our diets). After inhaling said pancakes, we moved onto dessert. Bet you can't guess what we had?! Tiramisu, ha got you. No I'm kidding it was more pancakes, with banana, chocolate fudge, ice cream and whipped cream. Delicious.

Right, now sephora. I'm not too clued in on this domain, but I'll give it my best shot. Basically, there is a lot of makeup, skincare and other beauty stuff there, and it can become very expensive very quickly. 'We' decided to treat ourselves to a Nars Blush/Bronzer palette, a Nars lipstick and multiple masks, as well as some lip balms and a face spray (just to clarify, Mollie paid for all of this, I was just being Snarky).

After this treat, we headed home, for a nice long sleep, in preparation for Disney, a big one on the calendar.

Day 1: Paris

We have arrived in our first stop - Paris. After a pretty long journey involving a plane, train, metro and a taxi we got to our Airbnb to meet our host Fabrice, who was very eccentric and had offered us vodka within approximately 3 minutes of arriving. Afterwards we went to the local bakery to get pastries which tasted like 89% butter (not complaining) and got the metro to the Champs Elysees where it cost me €2 for a wee (not impressed). We walked up and looked in the shops, namely the massive Sephora which was a bit overwhelming and definitely requires a second visit (Day 2???). We took the obligatory 'romantic' pictures at the Arc de Triomphe. Then, considering I was falling asleep everywhere (benches, the metro, the floor to name a few) we decided to head back. On the way back we stopped for bread and cheese and had a quick dinner before falling asleep around 8, so overall a pretty wild first night.

(Also there has been a disappointingly low number of animals here, so have decided to keep a tally)

Dogs spotted: 4
Cats spotted: 0

T-Minus 1 Hour

Okay, we're doing the first blog post. Technically we are just sitting in my bed, waiting before we get the coach, but it counts, we leave for the airport in less than an hour. Give us the benefit of the doubt!

So after the minor/major packing disasters, travel card issues and general logistical manipulation, we are actually at a point where we can go. It seemed unlikely at times, anytime you have Harvey planning something you're not sure it'll work, and to be honest, we're still not sure it will, but eh, we'll try. Mollie just said be more factual, so I'll try that now. Our coach to Gatwick leaves at 1:15, and we'll probably nap, before checking in and all those shenanigans. Then its flight time, and to be honest, I'm sure that'll be covered tomorrow.

So, first post done with, hopefully I haven't made anyone cringe as much as Mollie has already.

(P.S. A small disclaimer to any of my friends stalking this: This may be horrendously cringey, but please don't judge ta. From Mollie)
