Day 1: Paris

We have arrived in our first stop - Paris. After a pretty long journey involving a plane, train, metro and a taxi we got to our Airbnb to meet our host Fabrice, who was very eccentric and had offered us vodka within approximately 3 minutes of arriving. Afterwards we went to the local bakery to get pastries which tasted like 89% butter (not complaining) and got the metro to the Champs Elysees where it cost me €2 for a wee (not impressed). We walked up and looked in the shops, namely the massive Sephora which was a bit overwhelming and definitely requires a second visit (Day 2???). We took the obligatory 'romantic' pictures at the Arc de Triomphe. Then, considering I was falling asleep everywhere (benches, the metro, the floor to name a few) we decided to head back. On the way back we stopped for bread and cheese and had a quick dinner before falling asleep around 8, so overall a pretty wild first night.

(Also there has been a disappointingly low number of animals here, so have decided to keep a tally)

Dogs spotted: 4
Cats spotted: 0
